Space Mountain is a high speed roller coaster through space. This fun roller coaster is in the dark with many twists and turns that you wont see coming. This whole ride is timed to a fantastic musical score that intensifies the ride. With amazing special effects this ride is A MUST to do at Disneyland, if its your first time or your fiftieth you will have a blast on this ride.Space Mountain is a roller coaster in the dark with turns and drops that you wont see. This fact makes the ride very fun but this also might be a reason not to ride. If you are afraid of the dark or of roller coasters combining the two might not be a good idea. If you have teenagers this ride though is the perfect ride for them and just might be the highlight of your families visit. THE VERY FIRST THING YOU MUST DO IS GET A FASTPASS FOR IT AS SOON AS YOU ENTER THE PARK. If you enter Disneyland when it opens till about 9:30-10:00 the very first thing you need to do is get a fastpass. The line for space mountain even on slow days is 60 min. or longer. If you enter the park after 10:00 AM get fastpass's to all the other rides you want to go on and then get a fastpass for space mountain. This reason is explained in our fastpass section in the Guide to Disneyland part of the site. Also the area where Space Mountain exits and enters does become crowded with people, PLEASE HOLD ON TO YOUR CHILD'S HAND AT ALL TIMES!!!!!! If you do become separated while exiting or entering the ride set up a meeting point near-by. The granite ball outside the entrance is a good spot since there are many kids playing there and decreases the chance of getting your kids taken. Always remember that cast members know what to do and if you or your child is lost to get one of them IMMEDIATELY!!
